I believe that people seek a psychologist or other mental health professional for several reasons. First and foremost, they are usually struggling with or want to improve some aspect of their life; whether that is associated with work, marital, or family life. Second, they need some support and/or guidance. It is my job to help people navigate the ups and downs of life and to help them examine some of the patterns in their life that may be contributing to their difficulties. This is worked through in a collaborative and supportive fashion. Finally, people need a clear path toward their goals. Therapy can help inform, guide and direct people toward better and healthier work and family lives.
